PROPERTY NEWS: TRANSFER DUTY THRESHOLD ADJUSTMENT

Breathing room for property buyers.

 

Along with the latest 2025 Budget Speech came some good news for property buyers, with amendments to the purchase value thresholds and their accompanying transfer duty rates, by a value of 10%.
Of most importance was the threshold for exemption of payment of transfer duties, from R1 100 000 to R1 210 000. 

The table below summarises the new Transfer Duty Rates and their accompany adjustments:
